The first and only bicycle in Magnesio AK61, the jewel of the House of Pinarello. The Pinarello Dogma FPX is new and improved with a new integrated head-tube, new ONDA FPX fork and rear triangle. The Dogma FPX is definitly one of the stiffest yet somewhat comfortable bike on the market.
Magnesium, most commonly used in the aerospace and automotive industries is hard to work with and extremely hard to weld which is why the cost of the Dogma is fairly high. However, magnesium has always been a material that frame builders have longed to use as its characteristics are ideally suited for the construction of professional bicycle frames. Magnesium is, in fact, 35 percent lighter by volume than aluminum but with its strength and while featuring some compliance like carbon fiber.
